Maps
- The boundaries of the Central Delaware Master Planning project extend from Oregon Avenue to the south and Alleghany Avenue to the north, I-95 on the west, and the Delaware River on the east. The planning area encompasses approximately 5.7 miles of land along the waterfront and 1,129 acres.
Project Area
- There are 10 different neighborhoods, each with a different character, that extend to the waterfront and are part of the project area. This map shows the project area overlaid on top of the neighborhoods. The master plan will respect the unique identities of these neighborhoods while becoming an amenity for the entire city of Philadelphia.
Neighborhood Map
- The Central Delaware Master Plan aims to provide more park and green space for residents of Philadelphia. This map shows existing park space near the planning area. Also shown are the Race Street Pier and Pier 53 early action park projects and the proposed interim recreation trail.
Existing and Proposed Parks
- While the Central Delaware River master plan will increase the opportunities for recreation within the planning area, the waterfront is already home to a variety of recreational opportunities. Residents and visitors alike can take part in activities such as boating, concerts, historic sites and museums, and fishing.
Existing Recreation
- While I-95 is a significant visual and physical barrier to the access of the waterfront, a number of streets allow access to the land on the east side of the highway. Of 72 streets, 42 go through I-95, with most connecting through to Delaware Avenue/Columbus Boulevard.
